Who We Are

 

We are a group of students dedicated to changing the nature of UF’s relationship with its surrounding community, particularly Gainesville’s most victimized and vulnerable citizens: homeless persons. Primarily, we are asking that UF allocate some of its $2 billion in resources to fund a student-run homeless shelter in the city of Gainesville. This will allow students to put what they are learning into practice and allow the university to consolidate its community service efforts for homeless persons in one consolidated, organized location. It's time we recognized our responsibility in helping change Gainesville's status as the most impoverished city with a major public university in the US. • Read our FAQ, Without Housing Report, and engage in discussions with your family and friends about it.
• Come out to Community Plaza downtown for our Wednesday night dinners.
• Get the word out. Join our Facebook group and invite all your friends.
